A Typical Day at The Landing Treatment Center
Men who come to The Landing live in a luxurious beachfront home while receiving an ideal blend of traditional and cutting-edge addiction treatments. Every day begins with meditation to get patients in a calm, focused mindset for a full day of recovery groups, lectures and 12-Step meetings.
As part of their individualized treatment plans, clients work toward a series of goals and objectives during their stay at The Landing. A variety of therapeutic assignments help guide patients toward a better understanding of themselves and their addiction.
In addition to overcoming drug or alcohol addiction, many patients also make significant strides in other areas such as:
- conflict resolution
- communication
- anger management
- stress management
- relapse prevention and life coping skills
Patients meet with their therapist individually at least once a week to assess their progress toward their goals. Daily process groups help men get comfortable talking about their feelings, which is an important step toward recovery.
Enjoyable Rehab Activities
Because restoring physical strength and a strong mind-body connection is an important part of recovery, patients visit a fully equipped, exclusive gym four days a week, alternating with tai chi twice a week. They also receive weekly massages and participate in acupuncture and hypnotherapy sessions.
Meals at The Landing are prepared by an executive chef who is able to meet any special dietary needs our patients may have. After dinner, patients attend a 12-Step meeting every evening in the community. During their free time, patients can read or work on assignments on our patio right on the sand in Newport Beach, California.
On weekends, clients enjoy a more relaxed schedule that allows them to sleep in, go out to dinner and participate in a number of activities such as beach volleyball, swimming, surfing, movies, golf, hiking and more to help them learn how to have fun without using drugs or alcohol. Our location and small size allow us to adjust our daily schedule to the specific interests and needs of the men in treatment.
