One of the major strengths of The Landing’s treatment program is its three-phase structure that allows each client to grow and develop skills at his own pace. Care at The Landing begins with detox and residential treatment, and as each client progresses in his treatment, he develops skills that allow him to exercise more independence. Once a client has completed detox and residential treatment, he is ready to continue his growth by moving to Phase II, the partial hospitalization program (PHP).
During Phase II, clients continue living at the center and continue participating in programming. They receive weekly individual therapy with marriage and family therapy interns and counseling sessions with certified substance abuse counselors. In addition, they also participate in groups throughout the week, including process groups and psychoeducational groups. Days are rounded out with experiential groups, such as yoga, music therapy, acupuncture, hypnotherapy, and gym visits.
Men in Phase II benefit from working with an experienced and compassionate team consisting of an American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM)-certified psychiatrist, a licensed therapist, marriage and family therapy interns, certified substance abuse counselors, nurses, and clinical technicians. Treatment staff members practice a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities, including person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), emotionally focused therapy (EFT), and trauma-focused therapy.
Treatment at The Landing is founded in the 12-step principles, and while early treatment was focused on exposing clients to the 12 steps, Phase II allows clients to begin putting the steps into action. Through individual therapy, groups, and experiential therapies, clients are given opportunities to take steps forward in their treatment and lay down the foundation for skills that can provide them with a lifetime of sobriety.
While many of our clients transition into PHP care after completing residential treatment at The Landing, we are passionate about the quality of care we deliver and we want to make our program available to as many men as possible. As a result, we also offer The Landing II, a combined PHP and intensive outpatient program (IOP) that is open to men who have completed the residential phase of treatment at another treatment center. Because of the continuous structure of treatment throughout the program, The Landing II is not available to men who are seeking PHP-only or IOP-only care.
Overcoming a substance use disorder and a co-occurring mental health condition can be an arduous task. However, it is a battle that no man needs to fight alone. With The Landing’s comprehensive and stepwise approach to treatment, each man in our care can rest assured that he will be supported throughout his entire treatment process and that his gradual transition back into independent living will be guided by the extensive wisdom of The Landing’s compassionate and caring treatment team.
