The Landing’s drug & alcohol addiction treatment for men is rooted in a science-based, research-supported clinical model to ensure a healthier, more satisfying life, without addiction.
A Typical Day at The Landing
Men who come to The Landing live in a luxurious beachfront home while receiving an ideal blend of traditional and cutting-edge addiction treatments. Every day begins with meditation to help clients focus into a calm mindset for a full day of recovery groups, lectures and 12-Step meetings.
Routine Therapeutic Processes for Men
As part of their individualized treatment plans, clients work toward a series of goals and objectives during their stay at The Landing. A variety of therapeutic assignments help guide patients toward a better understanding of themselves and their addiction.
In addition to overcoming drug or alcohol addiction, many clients also make significant strides in other areas such as:
- Conflict resolution
- Anger management
- Stress management
- Relapse prevention and life coping skills
Clients meet with their therapist individually at least once a week to assess their progress toward their goals. Daily process groups help our clients become comfortable talking about their feelings, which is an important step toward recovery.
Enjoyable Rehab Activities
Because restoring physical strength and a strong mind-body connection is an important part of recovery, our clients visit a fully equipped, exclusive gym three to four days a week. They also receive massages and participate in acupuncture and hypnotherapy sessions.
Meals at The Landing are prepared by an executive chef who is able to meet any special dietary needs. After dinner, clients attend a 12-Step meeting every evening in the community. During free time, clients can read or work on assignments on our patio right on the sand in Newport Beach, California.
On weekends, clients enjoy a more relaxed schedule that allows them to sleep in, go out to dinner and participate in a number of activities such as beach volleyball, swimming, surfing, movies, golf, hiking and more to help them learn how to have fun without using drugs or alcohol. Our location and small size allow us to adjust our daily schedule to the specific interests and needs of the men in treatment.
Clients gather to share their feelings and address underlying issues with support and feedback from their therapist and peers.
A professional hypnotherapist meets with patients to help them identify their goals, why they want to achieve those goals, and what it will mean when those goals are attained.
Clients attend psychoeducational lectures led by licensed marriage and family therapists and other experts on various recovery-related topics, including relapse prevention, the neurological basis of addiction, communication styles, spirituality, stress reduction and stress management, and more.
This group is a safe, comfortable setting for men to address trauma and other sensitive issues.
Art and Music Therapy
Art and music therapy is a creative outlet for men to express themselves.
Clients participate in a variety of sober activities and outings each week, including fishing, sports events, museums, beach volleyball, paddle boarding, swimming, surfing, golf, hiking and more.
